Today Kaitlyn and I went on a school field trip to
This is the Place Park.
We had a lot of fun.
If you aren't from Utah this Park is amazing!
It is built on the site where Brigham Young
stopped the Mormon Wagon Train and
said, "This is the place."
And the pioneers settled in this, the Salt Lake Valley.
At the park the workers are all
dressed in authentic pioneer clothes and teach
the kids how peopled worked in
pioneer times.
This is Kaitlyn brushing wool. She learned how
wool goes from a sheep to a blanket!
She got to learn how to plow and
how hard it really is. If only she
would work this hard at home!
She even got to help make the Deseret News.
By using the printing press!
We had a really good time!
Field trips are great but man am I tired!

I need to take my kids back there - it has been a long time!
Cute pictures!
Sounds like a fun field trip. I love This is the Place. We should get a group together and go to their Halloween scary story thing.
Love that place!! that would be a fun place to visit soon (hopefully)
So glad you were able to go on the field trip...it is one of my favorites every year! When you and Sara plan the Halloween outing, be sure to count us in!
we went there with my family last summer and it was so much fun~! we had those city passes so we had the wristbands there that you got to ride the covered wagons and the little train rides and get a couple of the activities at some of the stops (the homes or leather stamping place, blacksmith shop, places like that) and that was way cool. if you have three days to designate to running around the valley, id try the city passes this summer~!
