DRAMA!!!

This is Kaitlyn she is my oldest daughter! She is known as a little bit of a drama queen in our home. She owns a shirt that says, "A little drama never hurt anyone!" I hear she comes by this naturally, my nickname was "Gretta" growing up. That was my parents attempt of humor- Gretta Garbo the famous silent screen actress. (at least that dates my parents!- by the way I was born when they were very old)

When Kaitlyn went for her kindergarten physical last year she laid on the bed like she had a serious illness and awaited the doctors arrival. She stayed there limp during the entire thing. He asked if she was okay and I explained she is just being dramatic and playing the role of patient!

So my friend DeDe and I took our kids to the kids museum downtown this last week. So Kaitlyn asked DeDe to take a picture of her dead in the helicopter they have at the museum. DeDe said okay and Kaitlyn smiled. DeDe said, " I thought you were dead!" So of course my drama queen then became dead....
You have got to love a good dead moment in a helicopter cemented to the top of a kids museum! Go Kaitlyn.

Oh yeah, DeDe, thanks for being my personal photographer since I accidentally left my inferior camera in the car! We had a blast!

Mom might not want thrown away!

The pencil again

A sippy cup

Thanks to this beautiful, busy little guy I went out and bought a trash can with a lid on it. And yes for those of you who have been to my house the lid is broken on purpose!!! Because then he can't open it!!! HEE!! HEE! HEE!

The Blaze!!

Monte and I took our older boys to see a Blaze game last night. Blaze is the arena football team for Salt Lake City. It was a lot of fun. I liked how you could see everything being in the basketball arena.

The game was tied at the end and our guys scored a field goal at the last second of the game. My boys were in heaven with this. They that it was awesome. I didn't realize till today that Chicago was place first in the league and we were near last so winning was even better!!!

After the game you can go down on the field and get autographs. A nice man that worked there had given our boys posters of the team so they went down and met some of the players and got their autographs. They came home just hyped after that.

We had a wonderful night just with our two older boys. And the girls had a blast having a girl babysitter instead of their brother Britton!

Oh yeah I went to take a picture of the boys on the field and my camera battery was dead!! This happened on Thursday with my video camera and Chandler's concert so I am obviously buying some new batteries this week!!

Watch out Fred Astaire...

Chandler had his Spring performance of Harmony tonight!! He did great! He even dances with a girl. It was fun to go and watch him perform.

He and his friends, Tonka and Sammy, get up and go to school at 7:30 in the morning twice a week all year to practice and learn about music. I have been really impressed with their dedication. Chandler usually even reminds me that he has Harmony in the morning!!

Chandler told his dad that the Harmony Concert was his birthday present. So happy birthday honey!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONTE!!

Today is Monte's birthday so of course I have to take a minute to let you know what a great guy he is. I love my husband and am grateful for all the things he does for our family.

He is a great dad who cares so much about his children. He is great at teaching them about life using the scriptures. Yet he is hilarious and quirky and shocks our friends all the time with the things that come out of his mouth as a father!! I love being a parent with him we make a great team!

Oh yeah and there is that one addiction. Oh well as Monte is fond of saying, I wouldn't want him to be perfect and be translated and leave me here on earth by myself!!

Happy Birthday!! I Love You!!

Our Trip to Colorado

I was trying to put a video of my niece Grace. I couldn't get the computer to download the file. We got to go and see her and her family this last week. We had a wonderful time in Colorado with them. I was trying to put this little video clip on so that my parents would actually come and visit my blog ( you know how it is with favoritism and all). If Christopher's child is on it they will come:)!

But for those of you who do look at my blog because you love me and my kids here they are having a great time at the pool!!

Connor could not get enough of the water!! He loved it. Britton and Chandler took turns taking him around playing in it. Chandler and Connor went around the lazy river about a dozen times. I was afraid they were both going to fall asleep in there!!

Oh yeah to keep my parents interest. Here is a picture of my brother. And yes he is so conceited he loved all weekend that Connor looks like him. He can't get enough of how "cute" Connor is. He tried to explain to my 15 month old the curse and blessing of such good genes!!

This is Sydney and my niece Gracie. Grace and Kaitlyn had a blast together this weekend and Sydney loved tagging along behind them. They are going to have so much fun together as they get older. I just wish they were closer to us!!

And here is our family shot. Brie is taking the picture for me. (My parents will just have to come see my blog again to see the cute family pictures I got of Chris' family). My blog will only allow so many pictures at one time. Needless to say we had a wonderful time. It felt so good to be able to hug my niece and brother and see Brie pregnant!! ( I am trying not to hate her for looking cute pregnant-she is one of those ladies when they turn around you can't tell they are pregnant!) But it is my little niece in there so I will hold no animosity towards her mother!
We loved seeing you guys and can't wait to do it again!!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Kaitlyn wants to know why we have Mother's Day and not Kid Day. I explained to her that everyday is Kid Day!!
You can't let this day pass without thinking of all the reasons you love being a mother:
*I love being called "momma" Syd started it a few months ago and it makes my heart warm.
*Sometimes I wish my mind could take a picture when your kids just smile so sweetly at you or they wave once more as they get out of the car to go to school.
*I love the creativity of kids
*I love getting to me "mean" (which translates to I care)
* I love hugs
* I love kisses
* I love Connor running for me when I get home
* I love waking up nest to Syd in my bed
* I am even learning to love pre-teens
* I love that right now I can smell my husband making breakfast (this rare occurrence!!)
Yeah for Mother's Day.
Now a small note of the mother's I have in my life!

Here is my mommy. She loves being a grandmother more than a mother I think. She is my best friend. I love our relationship and I love how much she loves my children. She loves to talk with each of them on the phone and when she is around they go to movies, the park and shopping!

Kaitlyn told her Grandmalona yesterday that her two favorite things to do are to garden and go shopping. She explained how lucky she is because she has a grandma to do both!! She is so right. My mom is definitely the shopping grandma!! We love you Mema!

As for my mother-in-law I am very blessed. I can honestly say that I love her. She is also my mother. I have always been treated as a daughter and I appreciate that. As for a grandmother she is wonderful. She comes to our house (and does yard work) and if that weren't enough she also always comes with puzzles and dates and things to do with the kids. They love her. Their favorite is if she is here at bed time and sings them to sleep. (I love that too!)

Also Happy Mother's Day to all the women in my life who as I watch them being mothers it just makes me want to be better. Thank you and enjoy your day!

(because tomorrow you have to clean it all up!!)

I Love School!!

Sydney absolutely loves school!!
Everyday she asks if today is school. She talks about the things she is going to tell her friends at school. She loves all of her friends she has at school.
This morning she is lugging around a handful of candy with her and asked me if she can share this with her friends at school. I told her of course she can.....
But she doesn't go to any school!!!

Field Trip

You have just got to love a good field trip!! I know I do!! By the time it is over all I wanted was a nap!! I went with Chandler's class yesterday to the planetarium. We had a really good time. We learned all about the stars and planets. We saw a great movie about the planets.
They have an exhibit of the moon. Chandler had fun exploring the moon's surface and pretending to float around. The kids were awesome!! It was a really fun day to spend with my kids.
