One of the neatest things we did on our trip was take our kids to Sunset Beach in Santa Cruz. We went at sunset and asked if they knew why this beach was so special to us. Monte told them that this is the beach that he proposed to me on 15 years ago this summer. They loved hearing the story, especially Kaitlyn! Then they played in the surf for a little while.
It was a crazy feeling bringing 5 kids back to the place it all started 15 years ago. When I said yes I don't think I could imagine the journey we were about to take together.
So where did you get engaged?

Bill popped the question in his parents backyard - I knew something was up when his mom was following us around from the insided of the house, looking through all the windows! I don't think I have ever told the kids that - I will have to let them know next time we are there! That was a great post - fun memories - pretty picture!
Chad proposed on the top of Morro Rock in the Sequoias... Chad told me that if I hiked up to the top he had something for me :)
But I seem to remember something about Nelson's frozen custard... I think I still have pics and a audio recording ... but it was so long ago - maybe I'm mistaken (I'll have to ask Amy - she was there...) The beach story is much better for the kids anyway :)
I can't believe that was 15 years ago!!!! Remember that tree outside our apartment room window in Alta? That is where Roger proposed to me...the first time!:)
We were on the grounds of the Provo Temple when Will pulled the ring out and surprised me with his proposal. We had just finished ring shopping. I had told him which ring I would like the best and the stone had to be set, I was expecting to have to wait for a week or so. The jeweler let him take the ring as long as he took it back the Monday after he popped the question (It was a Saturday).
What a great thing to be able to share with the children! Can you believe how fast it's gone? Enjoy the next 15+tons more together!!
Brian proposed on a carriage ride in downtown Salt Lake.
Brett proposed with a fortune cookie at his sister's place.
Charles asked me to spend time and all eternity with him on the side of the provo temple on a cute little bench. We just celebrated 10 years....wow time flies.
Tom proposed after dinner on a grassy hill outside a little restaurant called the Oak Crest Inn at the mouth of the canyon in Spanish Fork. I don't know how he made it through the whole dinner without saying anything. I sure couldn't have. And then I insisted on a take home container, which meant we had to take a detour to the car to drop it off before he could insist, "Just come take a little walk with me. It's so nice out." I still didn't get it, and thought it was a bit strange to take a stroll across a parking lot and then around the outside of a restaurant, even though it was nice scenery. I finally figured it out when he took my hand and kneeled down. :-)
