Rejuvanated

What an absolutely wonderful weekend we just had. For friends who are not a member of my faith, this last weekend was General Conference Weekend. This means in the words of my little kids, "Church is on T.V." So twice every year you can throughout the world find conference being broadcast on television, radio, and the Internet. This time of year is where we spend Saturday and Sunday listening to the voices of our prophet and the 12 apostles.

Monte and I were really lucky we got to go to the conference center in downtown Salt Lake City and be in the meeting with these wonderful leaders. There were some wonderful talks given. I was inspired and made a list of things I would like to start working on. One of the great things about this particular weekend is that it is our new prophet Thomas S. Monson's first conference weekend as the prophet. It was wonderful to stand with my children and sustain him and support him on Saturday morning.

I just want to take this time to tell my family and friends how important Jesus Christ is in my life. I can't imagine living a life that was not influenced by him. I try to be a mother that teaches my children of His sacrifice for us and how much they are loved by Him. I love my Savior and I am grateful for the life he gave so that someday I too may live with my Eternal Father, my Savior, and with my family forever.

I will just have to say Dido. I was going to put something like this on my blog. Good job.

Ethan saw the Conference center and wanted to watch conference at the center. I told him when he shows more interest in conference, I would personally drive him down there and take him. He said ok, and went downstairs to play. What a great experience to have with your children, especially to stand and sustain their prophet!

I felt the same way you did! It was so great to hear all of the messages. I actually had my kids watch all sessions and didn't hear one complaint about it. It took me long enough - but I finally realized that if you talk about it well ahead of time and let them know exact times and duration times it actually is very helpful.

Exactly. Well said, old friend. How wonderful to have been there on Saturday morning. It must have been magnificent! Someday I hope to actually get to be in the Conference Center for Conference. And what good parents you two are to take your kids with you! Experiences like that just can't be found anywhere else. (Did they all go? If so, you are as brave as I always knew you were.) ;)

Isn't conference wonderful? I always feel like half of the talks are directed straight at me. I enjoyed reading about your experience at the conference center and of your testimony.
